Community Mediation facilitators draw on 14 years of communication and conflict resolution experience to bring you one of the best training opportunities available in Maryland. Our experiential learning activities, coached role plays, and apprenticeship options gives you everything you need to know to mediate disputes and build your communication skills.

Types of Trainings

  • Basic Mediation Training – This is our complete training, and consists of 54 hours of classroom instruction, role play coaching, experiential learning activities, and individual feedback. It also includes apprenticeship opportunities (two observations and two mediations with an experienced co-mediator) and five hours of followup training.

CAN I GET AN IN-SERVICE!!!

In-services are a great way to refresh your skills and get answers to many of the situations that will face as a mediator. Check the list below for the upcoming in-service dates and locations. We look forward to seeing you there!!!

IEP Facilitation Training – May 29th, 10am – 4pm @ CMM

For all those who have taken the IEP Facilitation training CMM is hosting an IEP facilitation in-service. The in-service is a great way to get a refresher on your skills and to get answers to any questions that you need answers too.  The in-service will be Tuesday May 29th @ 10am – 4pm. The location will be Community Mediation Maryland 407  South Crain Highway Suite 200 B Glen Burnie, MD 20161 . Please call the CM office if you are interested.

Private sessions In-service- June 5th, 2pm – 4:30pm or 6pm – 8:30pm

CMM will also be hosting an in-service on how and when to use private sessions. It will take place at CMM on Tuesday June 5th @ 2pm – 4:30pm or 6pm – 8:30pm. This is a great opportunity to learn about rarely used but important aspect of the mediation process.

 

Note Taking In-service- June 26th @ 5:30pm – 7:30pm

We will be exploring different ways of taking notes to ensure efficiency while mediating. If you’re looking for a better way to take notes or you would like to share your own unique note taking format, please join us on Tuesday June 26th @ 5:30pm – 7:30pm!!!!!

2012 May/June Volunteer Training now Closed

All the slots for the upcoming volunteer training have been filled at this time. CM would like to say thank you to everyone that applied and interviewed for the training. We had a great group of candidates this year and their was a lot of competition for each spot. There will be another volunteer training in the fall and the dates are TBA so check the website frequently for updates!
