Community Mediation Mediator of the Month for October, November and December goes to four more than deserving volunteers. Congratulations to Freda Kirkham, Zaccai Free, Shannon Darrow and Kate Purcell. Each of these outstanding volunteers have showed tremendous commitment to CM over the last couple months.

October- Freda: Freda is one of the most hard working and beloved volunteer’s that we have at CM. She went from being a dedicated volunteer to becoming a CM AmeriCorps members. Now she has set her sights on becoming a Mediation Trainer! Freda has traveled all over the state over the last few months to facilitate the Basic Mediation Training in a couple of the CM centers around the state. Without her, there is no doubt that CM wouldn’t have been able to train as many volunteers as we have this year. Freda….you rock!

November- Zaccai and Shannon: These two super mediators facilitated the CM staff mediation that lasted for four sessions! For those of you that dont know, it’s extremely difficult to mediate sessions with participants that are very experienced mediators, especially when you are a new volunteer. However, both of them facilitated a very productive process that lead to a great deal of complements and praise from the CM staff. Staff member Jerri Thomas said, ” The whole time i felt heard and understood. They did a great job of weaving each of our ideas and opinions into a well crafted and thought out agreement.”

December – Kate: Not only has Kate been proving herself to be a great mediator, but she has done an outstanding job designing the new and improved CM website! I could go on for hours about how much she has meant to this organization over the last couple of months. To make a long story short, Kate has been a God-send. Her expertise in web page design and web marketing has drastically improved our appeal and presence on the internet. Thank you Kate for all of the hard work and dedication that you have invested in CM over the last few months!
